Healing Schedule

Healing Schedule

Day 1

You can expect the eyeliner to be approximately 20 to 25% darker and bolder in width than they will be when healed. The skin is red under the pigment, which causes the color of the pigment to appear darker. There is also slight swelling which results in a thicker appearance than when healed and will subside. Exfoliation will begin in a few days, causing the excess pigment in the lash line to flake away resulting in a more narrow appearance. New skin will heal over the pigmented area and result in a softer appearance. Don’t be concerned that your eyeliner initially appears darker and heavier in size than you desire. This is all part of the process.

Healing Schedule

Day 2

Slightly swollen with a heavier makeup look

Healing Schedule

Day 3

Swelling decreases. Tightening feeling. Exfoliation begins.

Healing Schedule

Day 4

Itching. The skin begins to flake, peeling from the outside edges first. Do not pick!

Healing Schedule

Day 5

Color finishes flaking off and appears softer and grayer for a few days until color clarifies.

Care Instructions

DO NOT WEAR CONTACT LENSES DURING OR IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE EYELINER PROCEDURE.

You may resume wearing your contact lenses as soon as your eyes return to their pre-treated condition. All permanent cosmetic procedures are a multi-session process. You are required to come back for at least one touch-up visit before it can be determined that your work is complete. First touch-up is between 2-4 months. All future touch-up visits are scheduled between 12 – 18 month intervals.

Since delicate skin or sensitive area may swell slightly or redden, some clients feel it best not to make any social plans for a day or two following the procedure.

  • DO NOT use Mascara for 7 days.
  • DO NOT use any Retin A or Glycolic Acids while healing.
  • DO NOT use peroxide or Neosporin on ANY areas.
  • DO NOT scrub or pick treated areas.
  • AVOID heavy sweating for the first 10 days.
  • DO NOT expose area to sun or tanning beds for 3-4 weeks after the procedure.
  • AVOID facials, swimming, and whirlpools, for at least 10 days.
Post Procedure

You can expect slight redness, swelling/ and or thickness for 1-2 days following the procedure. Ice packs can be used in 10 minute intervals the day of and the day after to minimize swelling. After 48 hours you can begin to apply a very thin coat of Aquaphor Healing Ointment or A & D Ointment (will be provided) to the liner area twice daily for 7-10 days.

You can wear clean contact lenses 72 hours after the procedure using Sterile Water ONLY! DO NOT use Saline to wet the eyes as it will fade the liner out instantly.

NO Mascara for 7 – 10 days after procedure. It is recommended to purchase a new mascara prior to the procedure to reduce the risk of infection.

Do not use makeup remover, creams, baby oils, or minerals oils around the eyes.

As your eyeliner heals, it will break into smaller pieces and exfoliate. As this happens the color will appear much softer, lighter, and less defined. Eyeliner tends to fade more than the brows due to more moisture in the eye area. This is to be expected and is all part of the healing process. After the touchup the color stays better and lasts longer.

NOTE

Permanent makeup procedures are affected by the canvas (your skin) that they are performed on. If you skin is sun damaged (even from tanning beds), thick and uneven in texture, and/ or excessively dry or oily, the result cannot be expected to be perfect after the initial procedure. Scars on the lips from fever blisters cause pigment removal.  Lifestyle, medications, smoking, metabolism, facial surgery, and age of skin, all contribute to fading. Color refreshers are sometimes needed to ensure the best results and to keep your permanent makeup looking the best.
