Permanent Lip Color Enhancement
Luscious Lips, Better than Bare!

Permanent cosmetics offer the perfect color solution for those who want the convenience of 24 hour lip color. This type of procedure not only enhances the beauty and color of the lips, it recreates the size and shape as well, adding youthfulness and bringing attention to the face and smile.

Permanent lip color is a superior, convenient alternative to applying and reapplying conventional lipstick. This procedure offers colors that range from the most natural in appearance to more distinct, vibrant shades. A soft pinkish red is popular for those wanting a natural look.

There are many benefits of permanent lip color enhancement. This treatment can make the lips appear naturally fuller, correct contour and shape, define the cupids bow, and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the lips border.

Permanently applied lip color eliminates bleeding, smearing, and color smudging. Have the confidence of never leaving your lipstick behind on a glass, from a kiss, or the unexpected lipstick on the teeth.

Care Instructions

If you are having a lip procedure and you have ANY history of fever blisters, or herpes simplex, you will be required to contact your physician to obtain the proper medication to prevent such outbreaks. Many physicians prescribe Valtrex (12 capsules of 500 mg each). These can be taken twice daily, two days before micropigmentation and four days after, or as the physician prescribes.

All permanent cosmetic procedures are a multi session process, and are not considered complete until after the first touchup, which is done 8-12 weeks after the first procedure. All future color refreshers are scheduled between 12 – 18 month intervals.

Consider your social plans before scheduling… delicate/sensitive skin may redden or swell slightly for the first few days.

  • BLOT often the first day. Gently pat with clean paper towel. Continue until weeping has subsided.
  • DRY HEAL Day 1-3 until corners start to peel up
  • NO WATER on the lips for 3 days
  • DO NOT use ointment for the first 48-72 hours
  • After 48 – 72 hours, apply a thin coat of Aquaphor or A & D Ointment twice daily for 2 -3 days.
  • AVOID spicy foods
  • DO NOT scrub or pick the treated areas.
  • AVOID heavy sweating for the first 10 days.
  • DO NOT use peroxide or Neosporin on ANY areas.
  • AVOID facials, swimming, whirlpools or direct shower spray for 10 days.
  • NO sun or tanning beds for 30 days – sun exposure will cause your makeup to fade
Post Procedure

After your lip procedure you can expect moderate swelling for 1-2 days following the procedure. Applying ice packs in the first 2 hours is the most important and should be continued throughout the day. Blot often with clean paper towel. After 48 – 72 hours you can begin to apply a very thin coat of Aquaphor Healing Ointment or A & D Ointment (will be provided) to the liner area twice daily for 7-10 days.

After 7-10 days switch to chapstick or lipstick with an SPF of 15 or greater, as the sun will fade your lip color quickly. Directly after the procedure your lips may appear to have too much color. As your lips heal, the outer layer of pigment will break into smaller pieces and exfoliate. As this happens the color will appear much softer, lighter, and less defined. However, after your lips have healed completely the dermal layer will gradually become darker. After the touchup the color stays better and lasts longer. More than one application may be necessary to achieve the desired results.

Note

Permanent makeup procedures are affected by the canvas (your skin) that they are performed on. If you skin is sun damaged (even from tanning beds), thick and uneven in texture, and/ or excessively dry or oily, the result cannot be expected to be perfect after the initial procedure. Scars on the lips from fever blisters cause pigment removal.  Lifestyle, medications, smoking, metabolism, facial surgery, and age of skin, all contribute to fading. Color refreshers are sometimes needed to ensure the best results and to keep your permanent makeup looking the best.
